This question came across my mind and straight into my heart -
ARE YOU READY?
As I stood in the Credit Union line, waiting to make my deposit for my portion of the mortgage payment, the thought came across to me Are You Ready?
I begin to talk to the LORD and this is how the conversation went -
Me: "Hey LORD. What are You trying to show me, by asking this question?"
God: "I want you to ponder the question."
Me: "Really?"
God: "Do you remember the last time you told Me you were 'ready'?"
Me: "Yes LORD."
God: "Okay. Consider this...Is there anyone in your life Alex, who needs to have that question asked to them?"
Me: "Oh. I see...hmmmm...Yes LORD. There are more than a few people in my life who need to have this question posed to them. I'm thankful to YOU LORD, for asking me, because I needed to hear that question as well."
God: "I'm God. That's what I do. I Love You Alex :) Love sinners, not their sins. Peace."
Me: "Thank YOU LORD. I LOVE YOU TOO :)"
Discipleship Is Costly
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
25 "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
26 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 "For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS.
28 "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."
ARE YOU READY?
Ready to take up your cross and follow Jesus?
Ready to lose your life?
Ready to truly serve Jesus, forsaking all others?
I can't answer these questions in the affirmative, unless my heart has been changed. I can't do this unless I have Jesus and Holy Spirit in my heart, transforming it each and every day.
Yesterday, I had talked to my wife concerning an incident that occurred at our house a couple of days ago. I was offended by what she was pointing out to me. Through the conversation, I realized that the enemy of my soul, was perpetrating a lie, to make me think that my wife just wanted to get on my case and confirm her belief that I'm a rotten person. Then God stepped in and let me know that she was only showing me love by addressing an error in my behavior towards my daughter.
So in my conversation with my wife, I had called her up and apologized for what I had done and said "Thank You for pointing out my pride to me. I need that so that I can learn humility and to love more from my heart instead of my head."
My wife was totally taken aback by my statement.
I give thanks to the LORD for working through that moment in me, showing the love of Jesus to my wife who is lost and blinded by her sins.
I'm standing firm in my LORD and know that He will carry out what He has spoken.
Praise Him!
